Blot up soda stain as much as possible.
Use a clean cloth or paper towel and blot the area of the spill as much as possible from the carpet. Working from the outside to the center to avoid spreading the stain.
Mix together 1/4 a teaspoon of liquid laundry detergent with 1/2 a cup of water.
Pour the mixture of on the soda stain and blot up the stained area again. Use another clean dry cloth. Allow the area to dry fully.
Vacuum
Vacuum the soda stain area thoroughly, after it has dried.
Any residue will be sucked up. This also helps fluff the carpet fibers.
If the soda stain remains, you can try any carpet stain remover. Make sure to follow the instructions on the can. Don't use too much cleaner or it can become difficult to remove and can actually attract dirt in the future.
